Non-alcoholic beers are a rising trend in today’s world. There are many reasons people avoid alcohol – some people choose non-alcoholic beer for health reasons, in many societies alcohol consumption is not part of the culture and overall more and more people just want to consume good beers without unpleasant side effects (feeling drunk, hungover).
There are several options for producing non-alcoholic beers – filtration, evaporation, stopping fermentation and pasteurizing. For example, beer can be heated in vacuum – as alcohol has a lower evaporation temperature, it begins to separate first, and the remaining liquid is alcohol-free. Alcohol can also be separated using reverse osmosis. Special yeasts are also used to ferment non-alcoholic or low-alcohol beers.
It is clear that this style, which is rapidly gaining popularity, is also motivating breweries to look for better and better solutions for brewing flavourful and tasty non-alcoholic beers.
